Peter Verhaart – General Manager
Peter Verhaart is responsible for overall investment activities of AXA Global Investors. He chairs the AXA NZ Investment Strategy Committee and also sits on the AXA Australia Investment Management Committee. Peter moved to AXA GI having spent eight years with Mercer Investment Consulting where he was most recently Head of Investment Consulting and a member of the senior leadership team. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in pure mathematics, a Post Graduate Diploma in financial mathematics and a Diploma of Financial Planning. He is a founding member of the CFA Society of New Zealand.

 Bevan Graham – Chief Economist & Head of Client Relations
Bevan Graham is Chief Economist & Head of Client Relations at AXA Global Investors, where he has worked since June 2008. Bevan has held a number of senior economist positions across both the private and public sectors. He began his career in financial markets at the ANZ Bank before a move to Westpac where be was Chief Economist from 1994 to 2000. In 2000 he became Chief Economic Advisor to the Leader of the Opposition, a position he held until the 2002 election. Following a period back in financial markets, Bevan became Chief Executive at the Economic Development Association of New Zealand (EDANZ), a position he held until his recent move to AXA Global Investors. Bevan has a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from Waikato University, majoring in Economics.

 Keith Poore – Head of Investment Strategy
Keith Poore joined AXA Global Investors in June 2008 and is responsible for asset allocation, manager selection, direct investments and financial market research. Keith started his career in financial markets in 1993 as an analyst with Reuters in London. He initially worked for Bloomberg on moving to New Zealand in 1997, before joining BNZ Investment Management in 1999, becoming the Portfolio Strategy Manager 2 years later. He held a similar position at Grosvenor Financial Services from 2004-06, and from 2007 to June 2008 he was principal of his own investment research firm. Keith holds a BCA Honours (1st class) in economics from Victoria University, a BSc Honours (1st class) in applied statistics from Liverpool JM University plus graduate qualifications in philosophy. He is a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Stephen Hong – Portfolio Manager
Stephen Hong is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that the diversified wholesale mandates are managed according to their risk / return objectives and for determining the action required to put in place the AXA Global Investors tactical asset allocation view. Stephen holds a Masters in Business Administration (Hons), having previously completed a Bachelor of Science, and is a member of the Institute of Finance Professionals NZ Inc – Certified Securities Analyst Professional (INFINZ – CSAP). Stephen joined AXA Global Investors following the acquisition of BNZ Investment Management in early 2006. He was with BNZ Investment Management for 22 years.

Christine Graham – Currency and Liquidity Manager
Christine Graham is primarily responsible for the management of currency positions and short-term money market portfolios for AXA Global Investors. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Canterbury University. Christine joined AXA Global Investors following the acquisition of BNZ Investment Management in early 2006. She was with BNZ Investment Management for 13 years.

Jeff Thompson, CIPM – Performance and Analytics Manager
Jeff is responsible for the quantitative analysis behind the portfolios. This includes monthly and quarterly investment performance analysis for the funds and providing information on portfolio holdings and hedging levels. Jeff was the first person in NZ to attain the right to use the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) designation after passing examinations in 2007 covering a globally relevant body of knowledge including professional ethics; performance measurement, attribution and appraisal; and the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®). Jeff is an advisor to CFA Institute serving on the CIPM Examination Review Panel. Jeff also has a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Maths and Statistics from Otago University. He has 19 years experience working in the finance industry, covering actuarial work, investment consulting services for corporate superannuation clients and back/middle office support for several fund managers. Jeff has been with AXA GI since 2002.

Laura Spurdle – Quantitative Investment Performance Analyst
Laura has principal responsibility for investment performance analysis, involving a wide range of monthly reports along with the day-to-day analysis of portfolio returns. Laura holds a Bachelors Degree in mathematics from Canterbury University, along with a Post Graduate Diploma in financial mathematics from Victoria University.

Catherine Buckley – Head of Operations
Catherine Buckley has formally joined the AXA Global Investors team to manage the product and investment support operations and communication functions of AXA Global Investors. Catherine has been working with AXA Global Investors since January 2006, managing the investment management integration following the acquisition of BNZ Investment Management. Catherine has 17 years experience in the financial services industry. Including four years as Investment Operations Manager for the Global Retirement Trust and seven years with global custodian State Street in a number of roles including key client relationship management. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Arts from Massey University.

Kirsty Stoddart – Client Relationship Manager
Kirsty is the first point of contact for reporting, investment and redemption requests as well as providing additional information relating to the operation of the funds. Kirsty has 13 years experience within the finance industry, Kirsty joined AXA Global Investors in June 2006 after working at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in London for five years.
